The Joe Andruzzi Foundation’s (JAF) Financial Assistance Program has been the Foundation’s core lifeline for patients and their families since its inception. JAF provides grants of up to $800 to help patients battling cancer focus on recovery and not worry about household bills. Patients living in New England of all ages with all types of cancer can apply for assistance.
The program does not cover credit card bills or medical-related expenses. Grant funds can go towards monthly household expenses such as rent or mortgage payments, car payments, and utility payments.
To qualify for Financial Assistance, a patient must be a New England resident, be in active cancer treatment, and provide financial documentation for any contributing household members. Patients can also reapply for grants 12 months after they receive their grant if they still meet eligibility requirements.
Patients work directly with their social worker, patient navigator, resource specialist, or similar healthcare professional familiar with their treatment to apply for financial assistance.
Pediatric Financial Assistance Fund
JAF Pediatric Financial Assistance funding provides New England pediatric cancer patients and their families with grants up to $800 for monthly household living expenses.
Applicants must be between the ages of 0-21 and be receiving active cancer treatment. JAF has working relationships with all pediatric oncology units within New England, where the social work/child life team is a crucial lifeline for families dealing with a pediatric cancer diagnosis. These pediatric healthcare partners can submit the Financial Assistance Program application to JAF on behalf of the families.
In addition to a financial grant for families, all pediatric recipients receive a supplemental gift from JAF with the intention to bring smiles to those undergoing treatment.
