A perfect summer day with bright skies and a pleasant ocean breeze was the backdrop for Team JAF on Sunday, August 20, as the team ran the 51st edition of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race! 51 JAF athletes took to the starting line in Falmouth, MA, and ran to support JAF’s mission.
The legendary seven-mile race was packed with resounding cheers, colorful signs, and refreshing sprays of water from start to finish. For JAF, it was non-stop fun and smiles at mile six as the Foundation set up its cheer station full of water, snacks, and high fives from Joe Andruzzi! Joining Joe at the cheer station were JAF staff, runner families, and friends—who applauded all JAF athletes dashing by.
Several Team JAF athletes could be found running together and encouraging others to keep going. No matter which JAF runner stopped at the cheer station, every Foundation supporter was ready to provide a boost to the runners on their last mile to go.
After conquering that final race hill and crossing the finish line, runners received congratulatory remarks, much-needed hydration, and delicious hot dogs! Through the hills and warm weather, nothing was going to stop Team JAF from crossing the finish line.
