Every October, law enforcement agencies across the country trade their standard shoulder patches for bright pink ones. It’s more than a fashion statement; it’s a powerful show of solidarity in the fight against cancer. This year, three Massachusetts police departments chose the Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) as their Pink Patch Project beneficiary.
Through the simple act of selling limited-edition pink patches, these departments raised more than $3,500 to help New England families facing cancer. Every dollar stays local and goes directly toward critical financial assistance: rent and mortgage payments, utility bills, transportation to treatment, groceries, and other urgent expenses that pile up when cancer hits home.
From campus quads to city streets and suburban neighborhoods, the mission stayed the same: to ease the financial burden for those fighting cancer, allowing them to concentrate on getting well.
A special thanks goes out to Tufts University Police Department, Harvard University Police Department, and the Milford Police Department for their efforts in promoting and pushing their fundraising throughout the month of October!
To everyone who bought a patch, shared a post, or simply said “thank you” to an officer wearing pink, Thank YOU. And to all those at Tufts, Harvard, and Milford Police Departments: you didn’t just wear the patch. You lived it.
We can’t wait to see which departments go pink with us in 2026. If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved with your local department for next year’s Pink Patch Project, please contact Hunter Andruzzi by email at hunter@joeandruzzifoundation.org .
