Stop and Shop has been a longtime supporter of JAF and its mission. So when JAF wanted to start a new program focused on food security, Stop & Shop was the natural partner. Donating $50,000 in grocery gift cards to fund the pilot of JAF’s new Food Security program, Stop and Shop made it possible for JAF to support patients and families in Massachusetts and Rhode Island that were facing food insecurity during patients’ treatment. The pilot program assisted nearly 500 patients and their families from December 2020 to March 2021.
“Food insecurity is a concern for many New Englanders, but even more so for families coping with cancer and trying to manage the cost of treatment. As a company that prides itself on supporting local communities, Stop & Shop values our partnership with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation and share their commitment to provide financial assistance for cancer patients, their caregivers, and family members who are experiencing barriers to food access,” said Jennifer Brogan, Director of External Communications and Community Relations for Stop & Shop.

Stop & Shop also partnered with JAF in 2019 to support JAF’s ‘Goal Line Giving’ campaign, which donated $100 to JAF for every point New England scored during the 2019 NFL season. That total amounted to $42,000, and Stop & Shop generously increased the donation to $50,000. Over the years, Stop and Shop has donated a total of $225,000 to JAF to support patients and families experiencing financial barriers during treatment.
