In January 2025, members of the Community Advisory Board were invited to participate in one of the four priority cancer working groups: breast, lung, colorectal, and prostate. Since JAF supports all cancer types, Jen decided to join the group that the COE team believed would benefit from her expertise in addressing the cancer burden in Massachusetts while promoting health equity. She was assigned to the colorectal group, which aims to address gaps such as increasing screening in underperforming counties, targeting outreach for high-incidence populations, developing culturally tailored programs, implementing community-based interventions, and enhancing data tracking by race and ethnicity.
For the first time since the pandemic, the COE CAB met in person on Tuesday, May 20, with working group members, academic partners, and community partners—individuals with whom the members had not yet had the opportunity to collaborate.
