Watch your mailboxes, email and Facebook: it’s time for the Fourth Annual Joe Andruzzi and Friends Golf Tournament– June 18 is just a golf swing away!
This year we expect to have more fun – and hopefully raise more money for cancer patients and pediatric brain research – than ever before. Joe will co-host the event with some generous friends, Patriots Rob Gronkowski and Rob Ninkovich! And we expect a big crowd of New England pro sports stars, celebrities and supporters to hit the greens with us, as well.
We’re excited to announce that this year’s tournament is planned for the deluxe Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, and will mark our first year closer to the city of Boston. As always, it will be played in the four-person scramble format and will feature a number of surprising events throughout the day. Watch for the helicopter dropping 750 pre-sold golf balls from the sky at 6 p.m. The owner of the ball closest to the pin will win some very cool autographed Pats jerseys from Gronk and Nink. We’ll wrap with cocktails and appetizers, followed by an awards ceremony and dinner. We’re also excited about the evening’s silent and live auctions, which will offer priceless sports memorabilia, entertainment packages and much more. You’ll actually get a sneak peek at our auction items online beginning June 1, so get those bids ready! As always, we couldn’t pull off this fun-filled, heart-warming and successful event without the tremendous help of our many supporters and sponsors. This year, our good friends at Credit Union Kids at Heart will serve as our Presenting Sponsor; this collective charitable group of credit unions has supported us so generously throughout the years. And we’re immensely grateful they’re taking the lead on our golf fundraiser. Credit Union Kids at Heart has helped us support pediatric brain cancer research at Children’s Hospital Boston, and has also funded a patient-family lounge and fetal cardiac research at the hospital.
