It may feel like just another hustling and bustling day between Thanksgiving and the holidays, but Tuesday, December 2nd is different. Black Friday is over. Cyber Monday has passed. It’s time to give back!
It’s #GivingTuesday.
#GivingTuesday is a day for the world to celebrate generosity. People from all walks of life, as well as charities, businesses, and community centers, come together to give.
#GivingTuesday was founded in 2012 by the 92nd Street YMCA in New York City in partnership with the United Nations. Since then, the message has spread worldwide and become a global movement that has engaged over 10,000 organizations.
In response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, celebrate #GivingTuesday by “paying it forward”: make a charitable donation and share your generous action with the hashtag #GivingTuesday to inspire others to do the same.
The “pay it forward” mantra is deeply embedded into the fabric of our Foundation, and we hope you’ll join us in supporting cancer patients and their families by making a donation to the Foundation today. Cancer knows no holiday vacations, and many families struggling with the disease are battling the emotional and financial ramifications that come with a diagnosis. While we illuminate our neighborhoods with festive decorations, many are having trouble keeping the living room lights on. While we gather around the fire, many are too buried in insurance invoices to pay the gas bill.
You can gift a donation in someone’s name or make a personal contribution on our website here. And for more information on this philanthropic movement, please visit www.givingtuesday.org and don’t forget to use the hashtag #GivingTuesday today. Happy holidays and thank you for giving all year long!
