The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is seeking Team JAF charity runners for the 2019 MDI Half Marathon! Join us as we take to the picturesque roads of Maine on Sunday, October 20, 2019, and raise funds in support of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation’s mission.
Everyday throughout New England, cancer patients and their families are battling not only the disease, but the financial stress that often comes with it. Following a cancer diagnosis, many patients and their families face a dramatic decrease in household income because one adult must stop working or significantly reduce their hours to care for themselves or a loved one. This loss of income, combined with a significant increase in out-of-pocket expenses related to treatment, creates a stressful situation known as financial toxicity, which impacts the entire family.
Team JAF’s 2019 MDI Half Marathon squad will be comprised of first-timers, experienced runners, individuals touched by cancer, and friends/supporters who want to fundraise for and represent what JAF stands for – all while participating in one of the most scenic road races in the Northeast.
- Team JAF Charity Bib/Entry: $600 fundraising minimum (includes complimentary race entry)
- Runner’s Own Bib/Entry: $250 fundraising minimum (if already registered for MDI Half)
All Team JAF 2019 MDI Half Marathon runners receive:
- A Team JAF singlet and running hat
- Fundraising toolkit
- Access to a Team JAF staff member and online Team JAF MDI running community for support along the way

About the Race
The Mount Desert Island (MDI) Half Marathon is one of North America’s premier destination road race. The award-winning course features miles of pristine terrain passing tranquil lakes, soaring mountains, sleepy Maine villages, and stunning seaside vistas —including Somes Sound, the only fjord on the Eastern Seaboard— all set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Acadia National Park in peak fall foliage season. The Half-Marathon starts in the opulent village of Northeast Harbor and finishes in the hardworking lobster fishing community of Southwest Harbor. This fall classic has earned both national and international accolades and once you “Run MDI” you’ll see why!
