GIVE THE GIFT OF WARMTH THIS HOLIDAY
For immunocompromised cancer patients and their families, the approaching holidays are being overshadowed by extreme stress and concern over their deepening financial needs. As the pandemic rages on, the stark reality is that too many cancer patients are waking up each day, struggling to stay safe and meet their most basic needs while in treatment.
The virus’s ongoing devastation on this vulnerable community – soaring unemployment and health insurance loss, increased housing instability and food insecurity – has left families who were already perched on the financial brink struggling exponentially to cover their essential costs. Here’s the simple truth: the numbers don’t add up. Far too many vulnerable patients and families don’t have room in their monthly budgets to account for the added winter costs of oil, propane, or gas. The decisions these patients are being forced to make are unfathomable: afford the costs associated with their treatment OR pay to keep their homes warm?
Can we count on you to help us give cancer patients the Give the Gift of Warmth this holiday season? In the wake of COVID-19, one in three families in New England is behind on paying their heating bills – many of which include a loved one in the household currently in cancer treatment. By supporting the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, you are helping to ensure we can provide critical financial support to cover heating bills so that no home is cold this winter. Every donation, no matter the size, makes an impact!
As we enter the season of gratitude and giving, Joe, Jen, and the entire team at JAF are thankful for all of those who continue to support our mission, even in the midst of navigating the impact of a pandemic!
