Greetings from the Joe Andruzzi Foundation!

Valerie Feature ImageSummer has been fun and (Up)Beat here at JAF. We want to offer a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to run and support #TeamJAF in the 42nd New Balance Falmouth Road Race. It was an incredible day. We raised over $100,000 for the Foundation! JAF also celebrated the one-year anniversary of our partnership with Alex and Ani. Over 54,000 “Positive Is How I Live” bangles have been sold, and we are excited to watch our partnership grow. With the heat of summer behind us, the Foundation is excited to carry our (Up)Beat momentum into the fall! Keep an eye out for some exciting events and partnerships coming this fall, including our annual Gala on November 24. Enjoy the last few rays of summer sunshine, and don’t forget to wear sunblock!

All the best,

This month we celebrated the one-year anniversary of our partnership with Alex and Ani, who designed the Charity By Design “Positive Is How I Live” bangle for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. The bangle reminds us to stay positive during life’s most difficult moments. To date, we have sold over 54,000 bangles, with 20 percent of the proceeds from each bracelet benefiting the Foundation! Thank you to everyone who tweeted or posted photos of their bracelets with the #PositiveIsHowILive hashtag. It has been uplifting to see the impact these bracelets have made in the lives of those affected by cancer.  Read more here.

PATIENT PROFILE
Chris Chick

patient-image-septChris Chick of Mansfield, husband, father of four, and lifelong Patriots fan, started experiencing blinding headaches in the summer of 2012. Soon after, he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. On the way to treatment one day, Joe called Chris to give him Patriots tickets and ensure him he was not alone in his struggle with cancer. “Sometimes all you need is someone to look at you, and you know they get it; that is an enormous help where you’re dealing with cancer. You don’t fully understand until you lived it like Joe has, and I’m so grateful for the kindness and support of the Foundation.” JAF continues to provide hope and positivity to the Chick family. Chris was not expected more than two months, but two years later, Chris is still staying strong!  To read the full JAF blog on the Chick family, click here.
