Just weeks ago it seemed like spring would never arrive – but May has brought sunshine, and things are really starting to heat up at the Joe Andruzzi Foundation!
They say good things come to those that wait – and we certainly waited a LONG time for winter to leave us behind – and warmer weather has us looking ahead to two of our favorite outdoor activities: the Seventh Annual Joe Andruzzi & Friends Golf Tournament in June, and Team JAF’s takeover at the New Balance Falmouth Road Race this August.
But that’s not all we were focusing on in May – read all about the month that was below!

The annual Joe Andruzzi & Friends Golf Tournament is right around the corner – do you think you can beat Joe out on the links? If so, reserve your spot today for an upbeat round at Pinehills Golf Club (named one of the “Top 10 You Can Play” by Golf Magazine!) on Monday, June 29. Since its inception, the event has raised over $1 million, which has allowed us to assist over 1,400 patients. The 2014 golf event alone raised more than $250,000, and with your help, proceeds from this year’s tournament will again go towards JAF’s mission of providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for cancer patients and their families by contributing financial and emotional support when it is needed most.

JAF Raises $35,000 at (Up)Beat Comedy Night
On Thursday, May 7, Raffael’s in Walpole, MA opened its doors to Joe Andruzzi Foundation supporters for the second annual (Up)Beat Comedy Night fundraiser. The event featured a cast of New England’s best comics, and we’re thrilled to say that together we raised nearly $35,000 for the Foundation!
Those funds will make it possible for JAF to assist 50 new patients moving forward, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of some very special supporters: including presenting sponsor Bob’s Discount Furniture, Raffael’s and co-owner Joe Bartucca, and the hilarious comics who brought the house down – Lenny Clarke, Artie Januario, Christine Hurley, Paul Gilligan, Juston McKinney, Joe Yannetty, Johnny Pizzi, Graig Murphy and Tony V.

The Joe Andruzzi Foundation’s Team JAF runners will once again take strides against cancer at the 43rd New Balance Falmouth Road Race in Woods Hole. Team JAF will join more than 12,000 runners as we gather for the scenic 7-mile run in the heart of Cape Cod – all to raise funds in support of JAF’s mission of providing help, hope and a reason to smile for cancer patients and their families.

Young JAF ambassadors paying it Forward
Just last week, JAF had the pleasure of welcoming four incredible young ladies to our offices. The girls – Kaleigh, Elyssa, Sarah and Allison – were dropping off proceeds from their sales of handmade rainbow loom bracelets, all of which they wanted donated to Joe Andruzzi Foundation patient families in need.
It’s amazing to have ambassadors of any age supporting the Foundation, but we must admit: it was extra special to see the generosity of these astounding young women. It truly symbolizes everything #UpBeatCancer represents.
