Springing Into Action!

1-sizedAfter a wacky winter and some chilly spring days, it was nice to finally see the sun out for most of the weekend in New England.

The warm weather over Memorial Day Weekend reminded us that summer is right around the corner, and with it brings a jam-packed stretch of JAF events. It’s our favorite time of year for a reason!

But before we look ahead to June, check out what kept us busy during the month of May!

All the best,
Jen and Joe Andruzzi

JAF Partners with NRG LAB of Mansfield!

3-sizedExciting news! NRG LAB and the Joe Andruzzi Foundation are joining forces on a number of initiatives this spring, including the gym becoming the Official Fitness Club of the JAF Employee Wellness Program.

Additionally, local JAF patient recipients will receive a free 90-day NRG LAB membership. The fitness center has also become the proud partner of ‪#‎TeamJAF‬‬ athletes – offering membership opportunities and hosting quarterly JAF fundraisers for those raising money for the Foundation through events like the Boston Marathon and the New Balance Falmouth Road Race.

Down Goes Cancer!

7-sizedHaymakers For Hope – a charity boxing event featuring first time amateurs – featured two JAF supporters raising money for our mission! On Thursday, May 19 at the House of Blues Boston, JAF supporters Andrew Gregory and Don McCarthy (a recent Team JAF Boston Marathon runner) stepped into the ring against opponents who were also raising money in support of area cancer-related charities.

Guess what? They both won – and raised more than $12,000 for our Foundation in the process.

Golf 100 Holes in Support of JAF Patients!

GFCWho doesn’t love late spring/early summer in New England? There’s just something about the first few truly beautiful days of the year that makes us want to get our clubs out of the garage and head down to the golf course for a casual 18. Or 100. Yes, that’s right, 100 holes of golf. Do you have what it takes?

Golf Fights Cancer has generously selected our foundation as its 2016 Golf Marathon tournament beneficiary. Held Friday, June 17, on 36 holes at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northborough, MA, the event aims to raise $250,000 through an incredible day of golf, fundraising and camaraderie – where groups of golfers of all skill levels will play 100 holes between 7AM and 4PM (don’t worry, it’s doable) to raise funds towards a cancer-related charity (that’s us!).

Join Team JAF’s Runner’s World Classic Team!

4-sizedFrom July 15-17, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation will be fielding a group of Team JAF runners & walkers to participate in, and build awareness through, the inaugural Runner’s World Classic, held in North Andover, MA!

The three-day event will host races and walks for participants and families of all levels – including an exciting kid’s fun run, a 5K, a 10K, and half marathon. The race courses will feature a start and finish through the beautiful campus of Merrimack College, featuring undulating paths through historic downtown Andover, past the famous grounds of Andover Phillips Academy and through a tree-lined, shaded residential community.

There is no fundraising necessary – Team JAF will be raising awareness at the event, and we are looking for supporters to join our team at as many, or as few, of the races as you’d like.

Register today online and be sure to select Team JAF as your charity team – 50% of the registration fee will go towards our mission!
