Hi everyone,
Happy New Year! With the holidays behind us and 2012 just beginning to unfold, this is an exciting time for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, as we work to build on the successes of 2011 and refine our action plan. We plan to make the coming year our best ever!
Thank you all for your support last year. Together, we helped more than 90 families pay critical bills as their loved ones fought cancer. I’m so proud of the great strides we’ve made since founding the organization in 2008 and look forward to realizing a key goal in the New Year: broadening awareness, increasing visibility and reaching a wider audience – all with the aim of helping more families in need.
Joe and I thank you from bottom of our hearts for your continued support; it means so much to us and everyone we serve.

Fourth Annual, New England Celebrities Tackle Cancer Gala
Last November, 800 of our friends and supporters filled Christina’s ballroom in Foxboro, raising more than $375,000 for our organization. Joe Honored with Boston Celtics’ Heroes Among Us Award
On Jan. 4, Joe received an amazing, high-profile recognition: the Heroes Among Us Award from the Boston Celtics for his work aiding cancer patients and their families through our Foundation.
The award honors individuals of who have made an overwhelming impact on the lives of others, and Joe says he was both humbled and flattered by the praise. (He was generously nominated by Jane Melchionda of Credit Unions Kids at Heart – and a new Joe Andruzzi Foundation board member – see story at right!)
After all his years on the field, it was still a huge thrill for Joe to stand at the Garden’s Center Court during a Celtics game. He shares this award with our entire Foundation community – patients, families, donors, doctors and volunteers.
